Home and Back Again

Home and Back Again. Salmon are a keystone species here in Northern Califonia and the greater West Coast. This means they're existence causes a ripple effect of ecological benefits. For example, after they have journeyed down their home river out to the Pacific ocean and have returned back to die, their dead bodies feed these waterways. Supplying nutrients to the health of the creeks and rivers and also meals to their predators. They largely are able to find their home creeks by smell- wild! This season of fall 2026 we have seen a great return of salmon to our creeks and rivers thanks to lots of conservation work.

This poster is for all fish lovers and those who admire this epic keystone species who is crucial to our West Coast ecology.
